The role

As a Specialist Technician you will work as part of Central Saint Martins Learning Technology Support Team. You will provide specialist AV expertise and guidance through 1st and 2nd line support services, remotely and in-person to staff on campus and staff working from home. You along with the LTS team will have responsibility for the support and maintenance of all meeting room, lecture, seminar, sprint, creative, public and corporate events, and student-facing AV and learning support infrastructure at Central Saint Martins. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of resources linked to the delivery of the Learning Technology Support resources (ensuring staff and students work in an environment that is both productive and safe), for the maintenance of systems. You will be support the Lead Specialist Technician with the creative development of the LTS resources.

You will not only bring key skills with you but will have the opportunity to develop new skills and experience across a wide range of learning technologies support in an evolving area. You will be working with a range of Technicians in the LTS team other technical staff across CSM.

The LTS Team provide 1st and 2nd line support services, both remotely and in person to staff on campus and staff working from home. They are responsible for the support of all meeting room, programme learning spaces, event, student-facing AV and hybrid VLE learning support infrastructure with related integrated software at Central Saint Martins. With excellent customer care, the LTS team ensure the highest quality provision in technical delivery throughout all seminars, workshops, events, meetings and conferences at Central Saint Martins.

Your Profile

Requirements of the role:

You should have professional and relevant experience, gained through working in creative or heritage industries and/or in education. You must be able to demonstrate and pass on technical skills with colleagues and stakeholders, have an in-depth knowledge of current live, hybrid and virtual events technologies as a minimum, with fair knowledge of or interested in developing knowledge in streaming and online events, lecture capture and communications tools. An interest in emerging practices in the HyFlex learning space and related areas would also be advantageous. You must be able to demonstrate keen independent organisation and self-motivation, and be capable of passing on technical skills to a wide range of staff/client capabilities, with an appreciation of the challenges involved in supporting in-person and online AV for teaching and learning and/or events. A demonstrable awareness and appreciation of the need for high levels of customer care is needed, agile approaches to supporting digital audio-visual environments is beneficial.
