The role

As part of a team of five Educational Developers within the Academic Enhancement team, you will work collectively and individually with colleagues in the Teaching, Learning and Employability Exchange (The Exchange), Academic Registry and London College of Communication (LCC) to enable course teams to improve teaching and learning approaches and support improvements in the student experience.

The post holder will be part of the Learning & Teaching Team and the wider Academic Development Team at LCC and will support courses at LCC and across the university to deliver a programme of staff development that promotes equitable, inclusive and decolonised pedagogies. This work is underpinned by a commitment to eliminating the awarding differentials between home white students and home students of colour and between home and international students.

The role will support delivery of the Accountability Framework at college level, and share good practice through events and workshops at LCC and across the university. The post holder will also support the range of work undertaken by the Exchange, providing an important link between the Exchange and the College.  

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Educational Developer and/or academic leader with expertise in the area of assessment and a demonstrable understanding of equitable, inclusive and decolonised approaches to teaching and learning. They will also have experience of working on academic enhancement projects with a focus on improving the experience and attainment of students.

Your Profile

You will be an experienced Educational Developer and/or academic leader with expertise in the area of assessment and a demonstrable understanding of equitable, inclusive and decolonised approaches to teaching and learning.

In addition you will have/be able to demonstrate: 

  • A Post graduate qualification
  • Knowledge of effective approaches to improving student academic experience and quality enhancement approaches within higher education
  • Knowledge of decolonial, equitable and social justice pedagogies to promote inclusion and attainment and assessment 
  • Understanding of NSS and attainment differentials at a sector and institutional level
  • Experience analysing data to direct enhancement activity
  • Experience supporting course teams in enhancement projects (with a focus on NSS, attainment differentials and retention)
  • Experience producing teaching and learning resources for staff and students including text, audio, visual and online materials 
  • Effective communication skills, orally and in writing adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way
  • Innovative approaches to leading teaching, learning or professional practice to support excellent teaching, pedagogy and inclusivity
  • Applies own research and enquiry to develop learning and assessment practice
  • Contributes to advancing professional practice/research or scholarly activity in own area of specialism
  • Applies own research and enquiry to develop learning and assessment practice
  • Plans, prioritises and manages resources effectively to achieve long term Academic Enhancement objectives
  • Contributes to improving or adapting provision to enhance the student experience
  • Fellow or Senior Fellow HEA
